Game Day Procedures

Pre, Game, and Post activities

Printing the Match Card

Match Cards are mandatory at check-in. All players must appear and NO WRITE-INS ARE ALLOWED. The match card should show no more than 18 active players, any beyond that must be crossed off prior to check-in.

Entering Scores

Score reporting is mandatory within 24 hours of match end.

Entering Red Cards

When Red Cards are entered with score reporting, GCF gets a heads up to report the cards. We then know to contact the referee if the card was not yet reported.

GAME DAY PROCEDURES

Pre-Game

  • Teams must have the Match Card roster set by noon on the Friday prior to the match

  • Both teams print the Match Card (the Away team as a backup).

  • Teams must also print their official FYSA roster and have it on hand in case any player needs to be validated.

  • Teams must have FYSA Medical Release Forms for each player at each game.

Game Check-In

  • Check-in takes place 30 minutes prior to game kickoff

  • The Home team presents the referee the GCF Match Card with the rosters of both teams listed on it. No players may be handwritten onto the Match Card.

  • Both teams present their player/coach/manager passes, which will be returned after the game. Any player or coach who does not have a current laminated pass may not participate. NO PASS – NO PLAY.

  • If Referee payment is made at the field the Home team does so. This can also be held until after the game when the referee fills the Match Card.

  • Both teams must also have their official FYSA roster on hand.

Post-Game

  • Both teams verify the score entered and the coach or manager initials the card.

  • Both teams retrieve their passes and cleanup their bench areas.

  • The Home team reports the score and any Red Cards issued through GotSport within 24 hours. If the score is not reported by then, the visiting club may enter the result.

  • If a Red Card was issued, the Home team submits the Match Report to GCF within 72 hours following the game. Email to redcard@gcfsoccer.com.

How to Enter Score and Red Cards

The Event Code (starts with GCF) and PIN are at the top of the match card. The PIN is always 9876.

The Event Code and Pin remain the same throughout the season, the game number changes.

The home club is responsible for reporting the game result in GotSport. If a score is not reported within 24 hours, the visiting club may report the result.

Scores can be entered in multiple ways - with a QR-code scan, through the Schedule page, through Team Management. Quick Add (QR-code) does not give you access to file uploads.

Red Cards - When a player receives a red card during a match it must be reported. While it is the responsibility of the center referee to send in their report we ask that red cards be reported along with entering the score. This alerts GCF to the card.

Hidden U9 and U10 Scores

Following USSF recommendations, GCFYSL does not publicly post match results online for any 7v7 divisions. This has been the policy for nearly all FYSA sanctioned leagues for several years.

Please keep in mind that player development is the main focus at this age. While score is kept at the field, tables of wins and losses are ultimately irrelevant to this development. All 7v7 results are still required be reported to verify that matches have been played as scheduled and to aid the GCF Competition Committee in managing competitive balance in future seasons.

All Club Directors of Coaching may request complete results for these divisions at any time.
